In 1896 the William Henkener family gathered for a reunion at the Henkener farm south of New Knoxville located at 05600 Southland Road. This was their first and last reunion until 1913, and they posed for this photograph. The last person in this picture who was living is the baby being held in the 5th position in the standing row. She is Viola Henkener Lammers who passed away in 1994 at the age of 97. She was the mother of Joann Feldwisch, Martha Hoelscher, and Lewis Lammers.

70th Annual Henkener Reunion 1913-1883
After the initial 1896 Henkener reunion the family did not again reunite until 1913, and this picture was taken on the bleachers of the New Knoxville school gymnasium at the 70th annual reunion in 1983. The reunion was held at the school for many years and eventually moved to the Community Park, and it is still continued on a biennial basis.

1985 HENKENER REUNION
In 1985 Gretchen Bierbaum and her son made a one-time appearance at the Henkener reunion. The other people in the following picture were all first cousins to Grechen’s father, Robert Bierbaum.
